Breathing Exercises For Kids
Belly Breathing Exercise
​
Do the following steps :

Lie down, place Maleku or another stuffed animal on your belly.

Inhale through the nose, watch the stuffed animal rise with your belly.

Exhale through the nose, and watch the stuffed animal fall with your belly.
Feather Breathing Exercise
​
Do the following steps :

Inhale through the nose.
-
Exhale through the pursed lips like you’re blowing through a straw.
-
The exhale should be long and slow. (You can substitute a tissue.)
Bee Breathing Exercise
​
Do the following steps :

Sit up straight and let your spine grow tall.

Cover the ears and close your eyes.
-
Inhale through the nose.
-
As you release the exhale, make a humming sound like a bee, long and steady.

You can make your voice go up and down.
-
Repeat until you feel calm.
Snake Breathing Exercise
​
Do the following steps :

Inhale through the nose.
-
Press the tongue gently against the bottom teeth and exhale with a hissing sound.

With your hand, imitate the movement of the snake.
Big Feelings Breathing Exercise
Do the following steps :

Stand up.
-
Inhale through the nose and reach the arms high above the head.

Exhale strongly through the mouth while falling forward from the waist.

Blow out all the big feelings.
Heart Breathing Exercise
​
Do the following steps :

Sit crisscross applesauce, straight spine.

Place the hands over your heart. Close your eyes.

Inhale through the nose.
-
Exhale long and soft while feeling your heartbeat.
